Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Forklift Training

Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) forklifts are designed to operate in extremely tight spaces with high racking, maximising warehouse storage capacity. These machines are typically guided by wire or rail systems and are ideal for large distribution centres and high-density storage facilities. Operators often work from a man-up cab, allowing precise control at height.

We provide certified training for both VNA categories:

  • E1 – Man-up VNA forklifts

  • E2 – Man-down VNA forklifts

Our training is tailored for novice, experienced, and refresher candidates, covering machine controls, guided systems, working at height, load handling, stability, and safety procedures in confined environments.

                                 Course Structure & Content

The following programme is based on 1 trainee and meets AITT accreditation requirements. Training duration may increase depending on the number of candidates. Please contact us for any enquiries or bespoke training requirements.

Novice Training (Example based on 1 trainee) – 3 Days

  • Day 1

  • Course introduction

  • Health & Safety legislation

  • Operator safety awareness

  • Truck controls and stability

  • Pre-use inspections

  • Basic manoeuvring

  • Day 2

  • Manoeuvring exercises

  • Load handling

  • Hydraulic controls

  • Stacking and de-stacking

  • Day 3

  • Advanced operation

  • Vehicle loading/unloading

  • Theory test

  • Practical tests

  • Certification

Semi-Experienced Training (Example based on 1 trainee) – 2 Days

  • Day 1

  • Course introduction and assessment of experience

  • Health & safety refresher

  • Pre-use inspections

  • Manoeuvring review

  • Load handling practice

  • Day 2

  • Advanced practical exercises

  • Stacking exercises

  • Theory test

  • Practical assessment

  • Certification

Refresher Training (Example based on 1 trainee) – 1 Day

  • Health & safety update

  • Legislation refresher

  • Pre-use inspection review

  • Practical refresher training

  • Theory test

  • Practical assessment

  • Certification
